Be Good Ambassadors of KWASU - Ag. VC Prof Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh Charges SIWES Students, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, made the charge while addressing the students during the SIWES Orientation programme that took place on Friday March 24, 2023. Professor Jimoh who was represented by the Director, General Studies Unit, Professor Olubukola Dada. 

Kwara State University students proceeding on the Batch 'A' 2023 Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) have been charged to be good ambassadors of the institution by exhibiting the character, learning and skills which they had acquired as students of the university.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, made the charge while addressing the students during the SIWES Orientation programme that took place on Friday March 24, 2023. Professor Jimoh who was represented by the Director, General Studies Unit, Professor Olubukola Dada, stressed that students of KWASU were known for hard work, diligence and proper moral conduct urged the students to keep up the image and standard established by their predecessors.

The Director of KWASU SIWES Unit, Dr. Dauda Adesola in his address, noted that the annual SIWES pre-placement orientation exercise was an avenue put in place by management of the Institution to educate the students on the importance of the scheme to thier overall training in the university. The Manager of the Ilorin Area Office  of Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mrs Temitayo Quadri said the SIWES programme was  designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice and prepare students of tertiary institutions for the industrial work situation they may encounter after graduation.

The Head of Training, ITF, Ilorin Area Office, Mr. Rauf Sule was also present and he gave detailed information on what the students should expect from thier prospective employers, and the ITF as the custodian of the Scheme. Mr. Sule also gave a demonstration of how to complete relevant SIWES documents like the Students Commencement Attachment Form, the Logbook and the I.T.F. Form - 8.
