Benue SUBEB Launches Transparent CBT for Teacher Recruitment

The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has officially commenced a Computer-Based Test (CBT) as part of its ongoing recruitment of teachers for Basic Education Schools in the state. The exercise, which began on Monday in Makurdi, has drawn over 74,000 applicants, all vying for over 9,000 available teaching positions under SUBEB.

While monitoring the exercise, the Executive Chairman of Benue SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba, highlighted the transparency of the CBT process. She explained that the test not only provides real-time results but also helps to enhance the computer skills of the applicants. "The process is seamless, with good network support for the CBT. Scores are displayed immediately for applicants, and invigilators are on hand to guide them through the process. The exercise is peaceful, with stable power supply and light refreshments provided for the candidates," she remarked.

Dr. Adagba's sentiments were echoed by the State Coordinator of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Mr. Idzi Baba Emmanuel, who praised the Benue State Government for adopting the CBT system. He noted that the new method eliminates favoritism and ensures that only the most qualified candidates are selected, which will ultimately benefit the students in public schools.
