Ekiti State University Graduates 91 First-Class Students at 28th Convocation Ceremony

Among the graduating students, 3,262 obtained second-class upper division degrees, while 6,411 achieved second class lower division. Additionally, 747 students were awarded third-class degrees, with only four students receiving a pass.

Ninety-one students have been awarded first-class degrees at the 28th convocation ceremony of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, revealed that a total of 10,894 graduates would be conferred with degrees, including 224 diplomas and 155 post-graduate degrees.

Among the graduating students, 3,262 obtained second-class upper division degrees, while 6,411 achieved second class lower division. Additionally, 747 students were awarded third-class degrees, with only four students receiving a pass.

Four distinguished personalities, including Pastor Enoch Adeboye, former Governor Niyi Adebayo, Princess Folorunsho Alakija, and Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, are set to receive honorary doctorates during the convocation ceremony.

Prof. Olanipekun highlighted the university's achievements under his tenure, including the approval of 16 new academic programs and successful collaborations with institutions such as the University of the West of England, Bristol (UK).

Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude for government intervention funds, which have contributed to the transformation of the university campus, including the completion of several sponsored projects.

The convocation ceremony also celebrates the EKSU Alumni Association's contributions to the university, particularly in streamlining the issuance of academic transcripts.
