The Federal Polytechnic Ayede officially commenced the 2025/2026 academic session with the formal reception of newly admitted students, ushering in a promising chapter in higher technical education.
The event signals more than just registration and lectures; it embodies a commitment to purpose, discipline, and national relevance. Admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria remains a competitive milestone, reflecting merit, perseverance, and determination. For the Polytechnic, welcoming new students also serves as an occasion to reflect on the institution’s rapid growth and the responsibility to cultivate graduates who will contribute meaningfully to national development.
The institution’s achievements and stability are credited to the strategic guidance of the Governing Council under Hon. Yakubu Dati (FNIPR) and the purposeful leadership of the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed (FNSE), supported by Deputy Rector, Dr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo. Principal officers, including Registrar Mr. Akin Odesola, Bursar Alhaja Rashidat Titilola Oladepo, and Polytechnic Librarian Dr. Samuel Oke Ogunniyi, alongside Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and staff, were commended for ensuring smooth operations across all administrative and academic fronts.

New students reported at the Polytechnic’s temporary site at Iresa-Pupa, Surulere Local Government Area, where comprehensive arrangements were in place to provide a warm reception and orderly registration process. Officers across relevant units were on hand to guide students through each stage, guaranteeing clarity, efficiency, and support.
The Polytechnic emphasizes that its mission goes beyond administrative formalities. Fresh students are being inducted into a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation, where character development complements technical education.
“As these students step into the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, they are not merely joining an institution—they are becoming part of its evolving story,” said Mr. Adepoju, Acting Director, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR). “Their achievements, struggles, and successes will define the legacy of Ayede as much as policies and infrastructure do.”
The Polytechnic community extends a warm welcome to the incoming students, wishing them an enriching academic experience, transformative learning, and a bright future ahead.
