Federal Polytechnic Oko Staff Complete NBTE Quality Assurance Assessors Training; Rector Commends Initiative

Some staff of Federal Polytechnic Oko who recently participated in the Quality Assurance Assessors (QAA)training at Nnewi have been received by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie in her office.

The intensive training which held from 23rd November to 5th December 2025 was organized by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

The essence of the training is to equip Quality Assurance Assessors with the professional and occupational capability needed to assess trainees in accredited skill training centers under the Nigerian Skills Qualifications Framework(NSQF).

The staff expressed their gratitude to the Rector for nominating them for the training; promising to maximize the knowledge acquired for advancement of the Federal Polytechnic Oko Skill development centre.

With the training, Federal Polytechnic Oko Skill Development Centre now has certified NBTE Quality Assurance Assessors that can assess trainees learning any skill at the centre; who after the end of their six months training will be issued a National Skills Qualifications Level 2 certificate which is recognized internationally.

Dr.Awuzie in her remarks reiterated her commitment to capacity building among the Polytechnic staff assurimg that the staff workforce willl be trained to develop their competence and be equipped for optimum performance.
