The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Registry Department has reinforced its commitment to professionalism and service excellence with the successful hosting of its Second Symposium and Third Staff Spotlight Award Ceremony on February 18, 2026.

Declaring the event open, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde—represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo—described the twin programme as both strategic and symbolic. He stated that while the symposium provided a platform for innovation and professional dialogue in university administration, the Spotlight Award ceremony recognized merit, dedication, and impactful service delivery.
He emphasized that the Registry remains central to institutional governance, noting that professionalism, resilience, and commitment are critical pillars sustaining FUNAAB’s mandates of teaching, research, and community engagement. Management, he assured, will continue to support reforms and best practices that strengthen administrative efficiency.
In his welcome address, the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, described the Spotlight Award as a deliberate initiative to identify and reward outstanding performance within the Registry. He stressed that the ceremony represents a conscious investment in human capital, aimed at inspiring healthy competition and continuous improvement. According to him, the quarterly engagement also creates space for staff to “learn, unlearn, and relearn” in response to evolving workplace demands.
Chairperson of the Spotlight Committee, Mrs. Oluwakemi Banuso, commended the Registrar for sustaining what she described as a visionary initiative that promotes excellence across the University community.
The professional development segment featured a lecture by Mr. Moses Ayanda, Senior Deputy Registrar, on “Enhanced Attitudinal Change and Work Ethics for Optimal Output.” He underscored the influence of attitude on workplace performance, highlighting trustworthiness, punctuality, accountability, and respectful engagement as non-negotiable standards for Registry personnel.

Mr. Ayanda drew a distinction between punctuality and regularity, stressing that presence at work must translate into timely and productive engagement. He cautioned against absenteeism and indiscipline, urging staff to protect the University’s reputation while prioritizing their physical and mental well-being for sustained productivity.
The ceremony culminated in the presentation of the Best Registry Staff Award to Mr. Oluwafemi Aina, who received a certificate and cash prize in recognition of his outstanding professionalism and service excellence.
