Speaking at the Maiden Mentorship Forum organized by the Faculty of Management Science, Abdul Rahman defined mentoring as an informal process for knowledge transmission and support, fostering professional development and excellence in research areas.

To achieve sustainable and inclusive development, the Vice-Chancellor has mandated all faculties to establish "academic forums for innovation and development," promoting senior lecturers' mentorship of younger academics.

The Dean of the Faculty of Management Science, Professor Muhammed Isa Kida, highlighted the forum's objective to emphasize mentorship's importance in Nigerian universities.

The event, held at the University's Old Senate Chamber, was attended by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Ismaila Dykes, Bursar Mr. Daniel Wilson, Librarian Professor Abiyedun Iyoro, and other distinguished academics and guests.
