The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) today welcomed the leadership of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle, Tricycle Repairers, Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, in a visit that underscored the University’s role in promoting community development and ethical leadership.

On behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, praised ACOMORAN’s commitment to nurturing leadership and integrity. He highlighted the Association’s transformation from skill-focused operators to value-driven leaders as a testament to the power of knowledge and discipline, principles that FUNAAB consistently upholds.

Prof. Kehinde also commended the Ogun State Chairman of ACOMORAN, Mr. Kayode Sowunmi, describing him as a “record-breaker” whose innovative approach has reshaped the Association’s identity. He encouraged Mr. Sowunmi to sustain this momentum, noting that his vision would inspire future generations.

In his remarks, Mr. Sowunmi expressed profound appreciation to FUNAAB, describing the day as one of “joy and thanksgiving.” He recalled initial doubts about the relevance of academic collaboration with their trade, but said consistent engagement with the University revealed the value of character and ethical conduct.

He added that the moral and intellectual guidance gained through FUNAAB has not only produced more skilled riders but also more responsible citizens, parents, and neighbors.
