FUNAAB VC Assesses Progress of DACIS Office Remodelling

As part of efforts to enhance institutional efficiency and align with global best practices, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has reiterated the University’s commitment to strengthening its digital academic architecture through the establishment of the Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS).

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor, today, August 4, 2025, inspected the ongoing remodelling of the newly designated DACIS office space, located within the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology Services (DICTS) complex.

Describing the progress of work as satisfactory, the Vice-Chancellor lauded the quality and pace of execution, stating that the upgrade reflected the University’s forward-thinking approach to service delivery, efficient data management, and the broader digital transformation agenda.

In his remarks, the Director of DACIS, Prof. Olusegun Folorunsho, disclosed that the Directorate was ready to commence full operations, assuring that DACIS would operate in tandem with the University’s core values of excellence, discipline, and innovation.

Also present during the inspection were the Ag. Director of DICTS, Mr. Temitope Soretire; Head of Department, Animal Production and Health (APH), Prof. Lawrence Egbeyale; Chairman, Agricultural Revitalisation Initiative, Dr. Mathew Whetto; and Mr. Olusegun Adeosun.

Meanwhile, the restructuring of the former Information and Communications Technology Resource Centre (ICTREC) led to the establishment of DICTS and DACIS, as approved by the University’s Governing Council.
