FUOYE VC Pledges to Produce Jurists of Federal and Global Influence at Law Faculty Retreat

The assurance was given during the second annual retreat of the Faculty of Law, held from December 1 to December 4, 2025, at Micom Golf Hotel and Resorts, Ada area, Osun State.
The retreat, sponsored and hosted by Professor Ali, SAN, OFR, a Professor of Practice in Law at FUOYE, brought together faculty members, university management, and other stakeholders. It featured lectures and discussions aimed at enhancing legal education and professional excellence within the faculty.
In a welcome address, Prof. Ali, SAN, set the tone for the retreat, emphasizing the importance of intellectual rigor and ethical practice in the training of future lawyers.
During his keynote presentation titled “Reflections on Legal Education at FUOYE,” renowned Nigerian legal icon, Professor Yusuf Alli, SAN, urged law lecturers to combine sound knowledge with deep reflection, enabling them to effectively impart legal education to students. Drawing on insights from Thomas Paine, Confucius, Aristotle, Albert Einstein, and Nelson Mandela, Prof. Alli highlighted that reflective thinking is central to effective teaching, stressing: “He who wants to impart knowledge must possess the quality of being reflective.”
Acting Dean of the Faculty, Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Olufunke Kehinde, also emphasized the importance of cultivating integrity and ethical conduct among law students, urging faculty members to ensure graduates uphold professional standards in all legal practice.
Professor Fasina reiterated the University’s vision of producing graduates who will make FUOYE proud on national and global platforms, noting that initiatives like the faculty retreat are critical to nurturing competence, professionalism, and leadership in legal education.
