Illmi Children’s Fund Partners with Peace Microfinance Bank to Empower Teachers

Illmi Children’s Fund has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Peace Microfinance Bank to launch an initiative aimed at empowering teachers in Nigeria. The foundation, through its Cooperative organization, will provide financial support to teachers, fostering better performance in the education sector. The program aligns with the organization's Training, Advocacy, Research, and Mentorship (TARM) Initiative.

According to the Executive Director, Maryam Augue-Abdulmumin, while TARM primarily focuses on empowering female teachers in mentorship and training to prevent Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the cooperative initiative is more comprehensive. It aims to assist both male and female teachers in planning for a secure retirement.
