ITF Sensitizes Shehu Idris Students on SIWES Program
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) organized a sensitization program for students of Shehu Idris Institute of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi Campus, Kaduna State University, on the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).

The event, held on June 17, 2024, aimed to educate students on the importance of SIWES in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The Acting Director, represented by the College Librarian, Malam Umar Shehu, welcomed the guests and appreciated the ITF's commitment to providing quality training.
Malam Shehu Hamidu, Area Manager of ITF Kaduna State branch, emphasized the significance of developing good skills and conduct during the SIWES program. He encouraged students to choose relevant fields for practical experience, ensuring a smooth transition from classroom learning to real-world applications.

Malam Muhammed Salisu, SIWES Officer of ITF Kaduna State branch, outlined the objectives of SIWES, including exposing students to professionalism, work methods, and safety protocols in various industries.
Dr. Ahmed Yusuf Kuyello, Coordinator of the sub-degree program at Shehu Idris Institute, highlighted the importance of SIWES as a skills training program designed to prepare students for the workforce. He emphasized that SIWES is a compulsory graduation requirement for Nigerian university students pursuing specific courses.
The sensitization program aimed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen careers.
