The workshop, themed “Building Transformational Educators for Enterprise and Leadership Training” (LASUED ECL 203–404), 2nd Batch Train-the-Trainer programme, took place from Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th December 2025 at the boardroom of the College of Management Sciences Education (COMSED).

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Daodu M.A., commended the university’s journey in entrepreneurship education. He emphasized the foundational role of entrepreneurship at LASUED, stating, “Entrepreneurship is part of the origin of this university, and it must not be allowed to die. That is why we are training lecturers.”

Prof. Daodu highlighted that entrepreneurial opportunities exist in every course of study, and graduates should be equipped to stand independently rather than merely seek employment. Lecturers, he added, must have sufficient entrepreneurial knowledge to effectively mentor students.

Prof. Bolanle O. Olaleye, Director of DESD, underscored the importance of equipping students with at least one practical skill to ensure future independence. She explained that the workshop created a platform for collaboration, peer learning, and experience sharing among academic staff.

The programme reinforced LASUED’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only job seekers but also potential employers of labour. Facilitators delivered sessions covering key entrepreneurship concepts, emphasizing problem identification, opportunity recognition, and practical solution development.

The workshop concluded with renewed determination among lecturers to impact students meaningfully, contribute to institutional growth, and support broader societal development.
