NOUN-RETRIDOL, COL Lead AI-Focused Workshop on Smarter Open Learning

Held at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Conference Centre, the event convened academics, policy makers, and practitioners in open and distance learning (ODL) to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the creation, distribution, and use of Open Educational Resources across Africa.
The keynote address was delivered on behalf of NOUN Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters, by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Chiedu Mafiana, highlighting the university’s commitment to leveraging AI for smarter and more efficient open learning practices.
The workshop emphasized strategies for integrating AI tools into OER, fostering innovative teaching methods, and ensuring equitable access to quality educational resources across the continent.
