In a bid to foster leadership skills among the youth, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State Chapter, recently organized a groundbreaking leadership symposium for senior secondary school students and undergraduates in the state.

The event, held at the Professor Kenneth Dike Library in Awka, garnered significant attention as it aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to society. Honourable Ayiba Kenneth Ejike, the director of NYCN, highlighted the imperative of catching the youth early to redirect their focus towards productive endeavors, steering them away from societal vices.

The symposium covered a wide array of topics including ICT innovation, business orientation, and human rights laws, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of their roles in societal development.

Notable dignitaries including the state chairman of NYCN, Comrade Obi Emeka, expressed gratitude to Governor Charles Soludo and the State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, for their support in making the event a success. Emeka emphasized the event's importance in combatting prevalent social issues such as drug abuse, cultism, and sexual harassment among students.

Guest speakers, including representatives from the National Human Rights Commission and prominent figures in the state government, underscored the significance of partnerships between the government and youth organizations to sustain advocacy for a better society.
