A CALL TO SHUN CULTISM AND INDECENT DRESSING IN THE AGE OF CONTENT CREATION
In a fervent address during this year's International Students Day celebrations in Abakaliki, Mr. Martin Okwuegbu, the Special Assistant to Governor Francis Nwifuru on Internally Generated Revenue in Ebonyi State, delivered a strong message to students, urging them to steer clear of cultism and indecent dressing, particularly in the context of the burgeoning era of content creation.
Speaking passionately, Okwuegbu underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping individuals for impactful contributions to society. He emphasized the expectations parents have when sending their children to university, envisioning a positive influence on families and communities.

The Special Assistant cautioned students against yielding to peer pressure and warned that engaging in cultism and indecent dressing under the pretext of content creation is not a pathway to societal impact.
"As we celebrate World Students Day and in line with the vision of the Governor, we should be able to pass through the school; the school will pass through us to be useful to society. We should not do things that will not make an impact on society after coming out of school; we will not be able to make an impact on society. We should be a light to the world," Okwuegbu stated.

He also shed light on the unique focus of this year's International Students Day, centered around nurturing Ebonyi students through the People's Charter of Needs. Okwuegbu called on students to reflect on prevalent social vices in tertiary institutions and rallied their support for the present administration's initiatives to enhance the education sector.
Architect and business mogul Christian Asaga Nwali echoed the call for student support, emphasizing Governor Francis Nwifuru's dedication to students' well-being and the education sector. Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Comrade Joshua Nwafor, urged students to actively engage with the "People's Charter of Needs" manifesto, considering them leaders of both today and tomorrow, with the capacity to make a significant impact on society.
