Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) has hosted an accreditation team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the assessment of its Faculty of Law and selected departments under the Faculty of Basic Medical and Health Sciences.

Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) has hosted an accreditation team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the assessment of its Faculty of Law and selected departments under the Faculty of Basic Medical and Health Sciences.

The departments evaluated during the exercise included Anatomy, Public Health, Physiology, and Physiotherapy. The accreditation visit, which spanned three to four days, was aimed at assessing the academic quality, infrastructural adequacy, and overall compliance of the programmes with national benchmark standards.

Members of the NUC team conducted comprehensive inspections of laboratories, libraries, and other learning facilities, reviewed academic curricula and staff qualifications, and engaged with students and faculty members to ascertain the effectiveness of teaching, learning, and research processes within the University.

Welcoming the team during the opening session, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, expressed the University’s appreciation for the visit, describing it as an opportunity for constructive engagement and institutional growth. She highlighted TAU’s academic milestones and reaffirmed the University’s readiness to receive professional guidance that would further strengthen its programmes.

In their response, the NUC team assured the University that the accreditation exercise was designed to support, mentor, and guide institutions, while ensuring strict adherence to national academic standards, rather than to fault-find.
