UK-Based Nigerian Scholar, Prof. Christian Harrison, Wins British Academy of Management Award

Professor Christian Harrison of the University of Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, has been awarded the 2025 British Academy of Management (BAM) Medal for Contribution to Communities. 

The prestigious award was presented during the Grand Opening Ceremony of the 2025 BAM Conference, held at the Sibson Building of the University of Kent. The BAM Medal, established in 2024, recognises individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions within BAM’s networks and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). 

Recipients of the medal are nominated by the BAM Council, its Fellows, and SIG Chairs. The final selection is made by the organisation’s Awards and Executive Committees. 

Professor Harrison was honoured for his exemplary leadership as Chair of the Leadership SIG, and for co-founding the BAM African Studies Track—now in its fourth year. His contributions as a BAM Council member and co-lead of the Management Knowledge and Education Teaching Practice Conference were also recognised. 

Widely respected for his work in leadership and management studies, Prof. Harrison has been instrumental in promoting academic collaboration between Africa and the United Kingdom. 

His efforts have significantly enriched the academic community and strengthened BAM’s global reach. 

In a statement, the British Academy of Management described the award as a “prestigious and well-deserved honour,” highlighting Prof. Harrison’s dedication to the development and vitality of the BAM community.
