The final-year Psychology students of the University of Delta Agbor (UNIDEL) have made the institution proud with their exceptional performance during a six-week practicum program at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Uselu, Benin City, Edo State.

The final-year Psychology students of the University of Delta Agbor (UNIDEL) have made the institution proud with their exceptional performance during a six-week practicum program at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Uselu, Benin City, Edo State.

Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Chenube, the Head of the Department, revealed this during the students' seminar presentation at the Owa Oyibu Campus. She explained that the practicum program, which is a compulsory part of the Psychology curriculum, was designed to provide practical experience and application of theoretical knowledge in the field of psychology.

Dr. Olufunke expressed her satisfaction with the students' seminar presentations, noting that it demonstrated their strong theoretical foundation, which prepared them well for the hands-on experience at the hospital.

The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Ben Nwanne, who was represented at the seminar by Dr. Emmanuel Uwaifo, commended the department for exposing students to practical experience. He described the students' presentations as a positive development and a model for future academic endeavors.

Fourteen students participated in the seminar, where they highlighted various mental and psychological disorders they encountered during their practicum.

In separate interviews with the UNIDEL Media Team, some of the students, Enoch Odinakachukwu and Omodon Ihioma, expressed that the six-week experience was not only impactful but also mirrored what they had been taught in class. They highlighted the relevance of the practical experience to their academic training at the university and thanked the university management for providing the necessary support for the program.
