Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, officially opened six new secondary schools constructed under his administration's initiatives.

In Maiduguri, Governor Zulum unveiled a "Build Back Better Strategy," aimed at bolstering enrollment of new students. These modern facilities include Government Day Secondary School in Maiduguri, Government Day Secondary School in 777 Housing Estate, Government Day Secondary School in 1000 Housing Estate, Government Junior Day Secondary School in Wulari, Government Day Secondary School in Bulanulin Diyabe, and Government Day Secondary School in Gonifamgari.

Additionally, as part of the "Build Back Better Strategy," the Borno State Government commenced the distribution of school supplies to 100,000 students slated to enroll in public schools across the state for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Governor Zulum emphasized that all projects executed by his administration are fully owned and funded by the Borno State Government, clarifying misconceptions about external funding sources such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank.

During the inauguration, Governor Zulum stated, "All those projects you are seeing, some with the inscription of World Bank project, the African Development Bank project, and so on, are not their projects. The projects are funded by the Borno State Government."

He highlighted the importance of bridging the education gap exacerbated by the Boko Haram insurgency, particularly in promoting girl-child education through initiatives like AGILE (Adolescent Girl-Child Education). He affirmed his administration's commitment to completing ongoing educational infrastructure projects to improve access to education in Borno State.

Governor Zulum expressed optimism that his administration's efforts would significantly contribute to enhancing service delivery and educational opportunities for the people of Borno State.
