Bayero University Kano Releases 2023/2024 Registration Guidelines
Bayero University Kano (BUK) has officially released the registration guidelines for the 2023/2024 academic session. Both fresh and returning students are required to follow these detailed procedures to ensure a smooth registration process.
Authentication Process
All students, whether new or returning, must authenticate their studentship before starting the registration process via [BUK Authentication Portal].
For Fresh Students:
- Screening and Registration Period: June 3 to July 14, 2024.
Requirements:
- Serial number of Admission Letter
- JAMB Number
- University Registration Number

- Username and password will be generated automatically during authentication. Students should keep these credentials confidential.
For Returning Students:
- Registration Period: June 10 to July 14, 2024.
- Requirements:
- Registration Number
- Last Session's Username
- JAMB Number
- A new password will be generated after authentication. A Password Retrieval Page is available for those who have forgotten their usernames, requiring the Registration number and JAMB number to retrieve credentials.
Login and Registration Procedure
After successful authentication, students can log in with their respective usernames and passwords to begin or continue the registration process.
1. Profile Update: students must update their profiles, ensuring the phone numbers and emails used on their BUK Personalized Payment Form (BUKPPF) are current.
2. Student Information Form (SIF): after updating the profile, students can generate, download, and print their SIF.
3. BUK Personalized Payment Form (BUKPPF): students must generate, download, and print the BUKPPF. Registration fees are listed on the BUKPPF and are payable via the Remita e-Payments and e-Collection platform. Students should carefully follow the payment procedure detailed on the [payment procedure page](https://mybuk2.buk.edu.ng/ug/paymentprocedure.php) to avoid any financial discrepancies.

4. Student Payment Receipt (SPR): upon validation and processing of payment, students must generate, download, and print the SPR to continue with registration.
5. Course Registration: following the printing of the SPR, students can register for their courses. It is advisable to consult with Level Coordinators to ensure correct course registration. Unregistered courses will not earn credit, and any examination taken for unregistered courses will result in cancellation of results per Section 4.23 of the General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR).
6. Course Registration Form (CRF): after course registration, students must generate, download, and print the CRF for submission to their Level Coordinator.
7. Registration Acknowledgment Slip (RAS): finally, students can print the RAS to confirm completion of the registration process.
