The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, has charged female students to be good ambassadors of the institution at all times.

“Exhibit good attitudes and character wherever you find yourselves,” she said.

Aleruchi advised the students during an enlightenment programme organised for female students by the Students Representatives Council (SRC),

with the theme: "My body, my wealth, my future."

The event took place, recently, at the 500-seat Auditorium, Permanent Site Campus of the University.

Aleruchi described females as special beings who should always be of good conduct, adding: "Always dress decently as dressing appropriately will present you in a positive light.”

She encouraged students to always be proactive and know what their motive for being in the University was, pointing out that staying focused “will result in societal benefit and personal your own benefit.”

She advised the students to take their education seriously, saying that education would open greater opportunities for them in society.

The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Finance, Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi, who was represented by Mrs. Hadiza Ibrahim Attah, the Founder and Executive Director of People with Special Needs Africa, also charged the students to be cautious of their health and mental well-being as they struggle through school.

The commissioner called on the students to take care of themselves, emphasising that a wrong lifestyle could have a negative impact when they grow old.

She stressed the need for the students to be respectful and never underrate anyone they come across.

The students were thrilled with performances by the WCF Drama Group as free sanitary pads were shared to them.
