The Federal Ministry of Education has reiterated its commitment to supporting the National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN) as part of ongoing efforts to preserve Nigeria’s linguistic heritage. The ministry revealed plans for structural and financial interventions for educational institutions, including NINLAN, in the 2024 budget.

Dr. Sununu, representing the ministry, emphasized the importance of promoting local languages in primary education, stating that effective language instruction enhances cognitive development and critical thinking. Prof. Ukaogo of NINLAN called for increased budgetary allocations and strategic support to address the institute's challenges and ensure its sustainable development.
