In a strategic move to translate vision into action, the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has inaugurated five specialised technical committees to operationalise his administration’s 2026–2031 Vision Plan.
In a strategic move to translate vision into action, the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, has inaugurated five specialised technical committees to operationalise his administration’s 2026–2031 Vision Plan.

The committees are tasked with developing actionable frameworks that will ensure effective implementation of the university’s strategic goals within a three-week timeline.
The inauguration followed Professor Ibileye’s official assumption of office on February 16, 2026, and brought together members of University Management, Senate representatives, Deans, Directors, and student leaders.
Addressing stakeholders, the Vice-Chancellor clarified that the committees are technical operational teams, not drivers of the Vision Plan itself. Their mandate is to translate strategic pillars into practical actions, integrate innovative ideas, and provide structured recommendations that ensure broad-based university acceptance, ownership, and sustainability.
Professor Ibileye emphasised that the Vision Plan 2026–2031 is a strategic governance framework anchored on discipline, standards, innovation, and long-term institutional growth. He noted that successful implementation requires participatory engagement across faculties, departments, administrative units, and the broader university community.
The five committees inaugurated are:
- Strategic Governance, Leadership & Institutional Stability Committee
- Academic & Learning Excellence, Staff and Student Development Committee
- Research, Innovation and Global Partnerships Committee
- Infrastructure, ICT and Community Engagement/External Relations Committee
- Staff & Student Welfare, Security and Well-Being Committee
Each committee will operate under clearly defined Terms of Reference, producing operational reports within three weeks. These reports are expected to outline measurable milestones, resource requirements, policy alignment, and recommended implementation sequences for consideration by the Senate and Governing Council.
Professor Ibileye stressed that institutional transformation must be system-driven, not personality-driven. He urged committees to foster inclusiveness, encourage stakeholder memoranda and intellectual contributions, and ensure the Vision Plan reflects collective institutional aspiration rather than executive imposition.
Chaired by experienced professors and management personnel, the committees are expected to bring technical expertise, strategic clarity, and innovative thinking to the operationalisation process.
This structured approach marks the beginning of a disciplined, consultative, and results-oriented transition from vision articulation to execution, reinforcing Federal University Lokoja’s commitment to institutional consolidation, high standards, and sustainable growth over the next five years.
