Abdul Rahman said that achieving the status of a cottage hospital was an important milestone in the history of the University, noting that as the population of both staff and students increased, there was the need to expand health care and other services in the University.
He called on the new board and management committee to address problems of shortages and challenges that might arise in the cause of operations, emphasising the need for collaboration with relevant partners to achieve results.
While calling on staff of the hospital to change their orientation to meet up with the new status of the hospital, the vice-chancellor promised to provide adequate facilities to the new hospital.
