Fulafia ICT Directorate celebrates staff

The Head of Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Saratu Haruna, has orgarnised an event to celebrate the staff of the Directorate who have contributed to the successful conduct of the recent CBT examinations in the University.

In her speech, Saratu said that her leadership has deemed it fit to celebrate the efforts of staff, saying: “It was felt that the efforts and contributions of staff should be duly acknowledged.”

It would be recalled that, recently, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, organised a special event to honour staff of three directorates, namely, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Management Information System (MIS) and Centre for Open, Distance and e-Learning (CODeL) for their excellent performance in the first semester of 2023 Academic Session. 

Saratu Haruna said that the event was organised to appreciate the gesture of the vice-chancellor for honouring the staff.

She said: “Recall that the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, had during the event said that if we are been appreciated at the top, we should also learn to appreciate those we are working with.”

She commended Aleruchi for being an inspiration, saying: "You are the inspiration to this celebration." 

Saratu commended the staff of the directorate for the successes recorded in the just concluded CBT examinations in the University. 

“This is to say thank you to all the staff who have made it possible, in one way or the other, for the achievements recorded.”

Speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, thanked the ICT Head for inviting her to chair the occasion, saying that, the ICT would always remain part of her family.

"That I am here today means that the head recognises that she is not here alone but with a supportive team,” Aleruchi said.

Highlights of the event included presentation of certificates to the staff of the directorate.
