Fulafia VC Abdul Rahman urges good use of TETFUND grants

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has urged lecturers in FULafia toplace greater emphasis on research activities, as according to him, no university can succeed without investing on research.

Abdul Rahman stated so when he received in his office lecturers who have benefited from the Tetfund research grant within the year 2024 grant cycle.

Addressing the lecturers, the vice-chancellor said he placed priority on research because the quest for accelerated national transformation depended on continuous research by scholars.

He expressed his gratitude to Tetfund for giving the money to the lecturer for the purpose of research.

He disclosed that some measures were put on the ground to support research activities within the University, pointing out that University has set aside funds for the purpose of carrying out research projects.

While wishing them the best of luck in their various research fields, he assured them that the University "is resolute and highly committed to upholding the core values of the institution,” namely, integrity, innovation and excellence.

Earlier, the FULafia Tetfund Desk Officer, Dr. Amos Ambo, who led the lecturers on the visit, appreciated the vice-chancellor for his efforts in the process of securing the grants. 

He informed the vice-chancellor that the beneficiaries of the Tetfund research grants were drawn from all the departments in the University.

Ambo assured that the research projects, when completed, would go along way in contributing to knowledge and helping the University during accreditation.
