The handing-over ceremony took place beside the Directorate of Physical Planning Office.
Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Timothy Amos, emphasized that the new structure is part of FUTA’s ongoing efforts to expand infrastructural development to support teaching, research, and community service. The building is designed to accommodate the growing need for office space to manage the university’s critical administrative functions. Professor Oladiji expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for providing the funds to execute the project and urged the contractors to deliver quality work within the set timeline.

Engr. Oladeji Boyinbode, Director of the Directorate of Physical Planning, noted that the project is funded under the 2025 Capital Appropriation Act of the Federal Government, which aims to enhance university infrastructure nationwide. He highlighted that the new building will address the current shortage of office space and thanked the Vice-Chancellor for her commitment to improving the university’s built environment.
Engr. Moradeyo Olalekan, Project Manager at Wekan Construction Nigeria Limited, expressed appreciation to the university management for awarding the contract and assured that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The new administrative building is expected to significantly improve the operational capacity of FUTA’s administrative offices upon completion.
