The Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Goronyo, has called on Nigerians and other partners to support the goal of achieving education for all by 2030. This call was made during the 2023 annual general forum of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), held in Abuja.

The forum, themed “Education for all by 2030: Advancing CSOs Participation”, saw Goronyo urging citizens to align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This agenda focuses on social inclusion and aims to address youth education and unemployment across the country.
In a statement released by Funmi Imuetinyan, the Director for Press and Public Relations in the ministry, Goronyo urged Nigerians to tackle the factors that impede access to education. These include economic disparities, gender inequality, inadequate infrastructure, and other systemic issues.

Goronyo charged the coalition to synergize with the federal government in dismantling these barriers, ensuring that no child is hindered from accessing every opportunity to learn and thrive.
The minister highlighted the importance of not just formal education, but also adult and non-formal education, institutional capacity building, vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial education. He stated that these are fundamental pillars propelling a country to greater heights.

Goronyo assured that such enlightenment would lead to the elimination of illiteracy, poverty, and enhance economic growth. He emphasized the rich cultural diversity and vibrant communities in Nigeria, stating that such immense wellspring of talent and innovation need to be harnessed for the overall development of the nation.
