A 26-man Team of the National Universities Commission led by the Acting Executive Secretary, Mr. Chris Jibreel Maiyaki paid a Resource Visit to University of Delta, Agbor, Myschoolnews report.
The visit was to verify the staffing position and facilities as a prelude to full accreditation coming up later.
On arrival at UNIDEL, the team went straight into a meeting with Management, Professors, Deans, Directors and HODs.
In her Welcome Address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke briefed the Team on the Programmes listed for verification, and the dint of efforts that Management and staff had put in to achieve success. She underscored the significance of the verification exercise and charged the concerned staff to cooperate with the NUC officials.
In his speech, the Executive Secretary pointed out the key areas of Assessment which included adequacy and qualification of staff, infrastructure, ICT development, facilities and equipment, as well as the academic environment of the campuses.
He commended the Vice Chancellor for the landmark achievements which manifest in the exotic ambience seen right from the Main Gate.
At the meeting were the Registrar, Bursar and Librarian. Others were Professors, the Director of Academic Planning, Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments.
Earlier on, Mr. Maiyaki commended the Delta State Government for its contribution to sustainable development of education in the state. He gave the commendation when he led the Team to pay Courtesy Call on the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at Government House, ASABA.
