The Oyo State Ministry of Education has announced the postponement of the 2024 Joint Promotion Examination for SSS1 and SSS2 students,as well as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for JSS3 students. The decision was necessitated by a clash with the Oro Cultural Festival,a significant traditional event in Oyo Town.
The Oro festival, which imposes restrictions on the movement of females, would have hindered the participation of female students in the examinations. Recognizing the potential impact on these students, the Ministry of Education, under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, swiftly rescheduled the exams.
