The Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education, Kumbotso, Kano, is set to admit 2,000 students for the 2024/2025 academic session, following an allocation by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This marks an increase from the 1,740 students admitted in the previous year, reflecting the university’s expanding capacity and growing reputation.

The announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Bunkure, who highlighted that the university has set a minimum cut-off mark of 145 for admission—higher than the national minimum of 140 set by JAMB. Prof. Bunkure, however, stressed that meeting the cut-off mark does not guarantee automatic admission. The university will prioritize students with higher scores, particularly in competitive subject areas.

In preparation for the increased student intake, Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education has invested N370 million in the construction of new lecture halls, staff rooms, and other essential facilities. Prof. Bunkure also issued a stern warning to students against engaging in cultism or unregistered associations, reiterating the university’s zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline and misconduct.
