Members of the National Association of Seadogs Confraternity, Awka chapter in Anambra State, emphasized the crucial role of education in achieving sustainable peace in the country.

During a hybrid event organized to commemorate the International Day of Education in Awka, speakers highlighted the importance of prioritizing skill-learning approaches over mere paper qualifications in the education sector. Dr. Vincent Onwughalu, a university lecturer and Seadogs of the association, underscored the significance of education as a powerful tool for attaining lasting peace, citing the United Nations' recognition of the global disruption of peace and the need to strategize using education.

The lead speaker at the event, radio host Ms. Jedidiah Uche, emphasized that education should be a means to promote national peace and societal well-being. She stressed that education is not solely about certificates but about positively influencing society with acquired skills, regretting that some individuals possess certificates they cannot defend, leading to a lack of positive influence and change champions.
