In a historic event at Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), the institution inaugurated its inaugural Students' Representative Council (SRC) on April 19th, 2024, marking a significant milestone in student empowerment and democratic governance. Esteemed dignitaries, including the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, faculty members, and students, gathered at the University Auditorium to witness this groundbreaking moment.

The proceedings began with an opening remark by Mr. Ameh Musa, Acting Dean of Students' Care Services, who expressed joy in welcoming attendees to witness the birth of the SRC. He thanked Prof. Francisca Oladipo for her commitment to student inclusion in university affairs.

Following Mr. Musa's remarks, 23 students from various departments and faculties were called to the stage to assume their positions within the SRC.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Francisca Oladipo emphasized the significance of the inauguration, highlighting the university's commitment to student engagement and empowerment. She urged the newly inaugurated SRC members to prioritize collaboration, inclusivity, and transparency in their roles as student representatives.

The President of the SRC, Comrade Adebola Agboola Felix, delivered a post-inaugural speech, expressing gratitude to stakeholders and pledging to advocate tirelessly for students' needs. The event concluded with closing remarks from the Acting Registrar, Mr. Solomon Ileladewa, followed by a photo session commemorating the historic occasion.

Inaugurating the Students' Representative Council signifies TAU's commitment to student empowerment and inclusive leadership, promising a future where students actively participate in shaping their educational experience and the institution's trajectory.
