In response to the escalating cases of sexual and gender-based violence and other social-environmental challenges in Nigeria, the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has collaborated with the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) to inaugurate a two-day training session for school-based guidance/counsellors and dedicated school-based management community members across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State.

The primary objective of this state-level training is to instill the general principles of Environmental/Social Safeguard and other essential Safeguarding measures to enhance the social and environmental conditions of schools within the state. This initiative aligns with the Healthy Living Initiative spearheaded by Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the state governor, aimed at educating individuals, especially school children, on the significance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
