The University of Lagos has opened the application portal for hostel accommodation for the 2025/2026 academic session, targeting all eligible 200–500 level students who have completed their first-semester course registration and remain within the approved duration of their programmes.

The application window runs from Monday, November 17 to Thursday, November 20, 2025, closing at 11:59 p.m. The subsequent balloting exercise is scheduled for Friday, November 21, 2025.

The University’s Student Affairs Division confirmed that students may submit accommodation applications concurrently with their course registration, provided both are completed within the stipulated period. All valid applications will be subjected to a randomized electronic ballot, which will determine the allocation of available bed spaces.

Key timelines for the process include movement into the halls of residence beginning Saturday, November 22, 2025, and a payment deadline of Friday, November 28, 2025, exactly one week after allocation.

However, the University specified that students residing in El-Kannemi Hall 2, Gbajabiamila Hostel, Women Society Hostel, and similar off-cycle accommodations are not eligible to participate in the balloting exercise. The Student Affairs Division, which maintains a detailed registry of occupants in these facilities, emphasized that any violation of this directive will result in referral to the Students’ Disciplinary Board for social misconduct.

The University advises all eligible students to follow the outlined procedures carefully and adhere strictly to the stated deadlines.
