A group, the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Muslim Alumni (MAPAMA), has expressed deep concern over the ongoing closure of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta, Ogun state. The institution has been shut for several weeks due to a school fees increment dispute.

MAPAMA expressed its apprehension over the current crisis, stating that the situation at MAPOLY has persisted for five years and represents a distressing chapter in the institution's history.

The group emphasized that this current deadlock should not be allowed to continue, given the institution's significance and role as one of the pioneers of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) polytechnics in the state.

MAPAMA called on all stakeholders, including the government and management, to find a solution to the situation. The group suggested convening a stakeholders forum to address the future of MAPOLY and to resolve the ongoing issues, particularly related to staff salaries, pensions, and promotions.
