The Zamfara State Government has dispatched a three-member delegation to Cyprus. The team, led by Malam Wadatau Madawaki, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, includes Alhaji Bello Auta, Commissioner for Finance, and Alhaji Barau Muazu, Special Adviser on Economic Matters.
The delegation's visit aims to engage directly with Zamfara State indigenes currently studying in Cyprus under government scholarships. The tour will encompass meetings with the students to assess their financial situations, health, and academic performance, ensuring that their needs are adequately met and their scholarship benefits are being utilized effectively.
According to Dr. Hajiya Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, there are currently eighty-eight state indigenes in Cyprus receiving government scholarships. The delegation's mission is to gather firsthand information on the students' welfare and address any issues that may arise.
Dr. Bagobiri highlighted that the present administration under Governor Dauda Lawal has successfully addressed the financial backlog of the students' scholarships, ensuring that all dues have been cleared. This visit is part of the government's ongoing efforts to provide robust support and maintain a high standard of education for Zamfara State students abroad.
The delegation's tour is expected to strengthen the relationship between the students and the state government, reaffirming the commitment to their academic and personal success.
The Zamfara State Government remains dedicated to supporting its students and ensuring their achievements on both academic and personal fronts.
