In response to the recent viral images of a lecturer at Aliko Dangote University (ADU) seemingly punishing students in class, a thorough investigation has been conducted to shed light on the incident.

Interview with the Lecturer:

Upon reaching out to the lecturer from Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST) involved in the incident, it was revealed that the intention behind the punishment was not meant to cause harm or distress. The lecturer clarified that the unusual disciplinary action was prompted by students consistently arriving late, disrupting lectures, and not heeding previous warnings.

The lecturer expressed regret for not foreseeing the potential consequences of his actions and emphasized that, in his extensive teaching career, he has never resorted to physical punishment or unconventional disciplinary measures. He explained that on that particular day, he playfully imposed the punishment on those who continually interrupted the class.

Acknowledgment of Mistake:

In light of the interview, the lecturer acknowledged the lapse in judgment and recognized that such methods can be distracting and counterproductive. The incident was deemed an isolated occurrence, and the lecturer assured that it would not be repeated.
