Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Rector Urges Participants to Disseminate ODFel Knowledge

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Bello, has emphasized the importance of disseminating knowledge gained from the Open Distance and Flexible e-learning (ODFeL) workshop to the grassroots.

 

The workshop, organized by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), aimed to educate lecturers on ODFeL standards and accreditation tools for programs and trainers ¹.

Dr. Bello, represented by Director of ODFeL, Dr. Muhammad Abubakar Shuwama, stressed that ODFeL standards require skills, and without a step-down approach, a skill gap will be created. He commended the NBTE for fulfilling its mandate on ODFeL and promoting the program nationwide.

The Rector of Mai Idiriss Aloma Polytechnic Geidam, Dr. Wakil Gana Kafiya, appreciated the NBTE for recognizing his institution's efforts in implementing ODFeL. He noted that the program has gained international recognition, with students from neighboring Niger Republic participating.

 

The workshop demonstrated the commitment of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu and Mai Idiriss Aloma Polytechnic Geidam to promoting quality education through ODFeL.
