FULafia trains lecturers, staff on career service
The Staff Productivity Promotion Unit (SPPU) of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has organised a two-day stepdown training on career service for lecturers.
The training, tagged: "Exit Career Service," took place at the Mallam Adamu Adamu Lecture Hall and Office Complex in Permanent Site Campus of the University.

Declaring the training open, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, said that the training was timely, especially when the University was gearing to establish a functional career service unit.
He told the participants that career service unit, when established, will service all the units in the University.

He urged participants to take advantage of the training which, he said, would go a long way in helping the University develop a functional and effective career system.
Earlier, while welcoming the participants to the stepdown training, the Head, SPPU, Dr. Abdulkareem Alhassan, said that the training was inline with TETFund’s idea of establishing a functional career service units in all Nigerian universities.
He said that training was organised to create awareness and brainstorm on how to run an effective and sustainable career service unit.
He urged deans, directors, professors and other staff of the University to take advantage of the training to benefit maximally as the subject matter affects curriculum, personality test assessment and the general courses.
The topics of the training included the design and delivery of career service across students live circle, measuring success of career service among others.

The resources persons at the event were Dr. Abdulkareem Alhassan, Dr. Amos Ambo and Dr. Charity P. Johnson.
Among the staff who graced the training were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Professor Aleruchi Chuku, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnership, Professor Ismaila Dykes, and Registrar, Malam Nurandeen Abdu.
Others were the deans, directors, professors of the University.
