The Inaugural Lecturer Professor Pac Ordu in his presentation on the topic “Breaking The Barriers In Tertiary Education Curriculum Contexts Delivery: The New Entrebusiness Education Solution”, defined Business Education from a Dahiru perspective as learning by doing occupational programme that focuses at the provision of practical skills to students.  He went on to inform the audience that entrepreneurship education was introduced by Shigeru Fijii in Kobe University, Japan in 1938 which spread to Universities in other parts of the world before being adopted as Business Education in Nigerian Universities in 2006.

The Inaugural Lecturer informed that there was a form of informal business education before the advent of the Colonial Masters, who brought their system of education with religious bias to prepare people for white collar jobs to serve their interest.

Professor Pac Ordu noted that there was nothing like unemployment then, because the moment students graduate, they became self-employed.

He posited that vocational training gave rise to Business Education adding that from the early ’80s and beyond, students were made to undertake vital business education courses such as type writing and shorthand, and bright students were recruited from school. He wondered what went wrong that the jobs are no longer available.

The Chinese took advantage of the USA experience and have replicated it in their country saying that laboratories in China are like factories.
