Kogi State University Holds Fruitful Meeting Between Governing Council and Students
The Governing Council of Kogi State University, Kabba, held a successful and interactive meeting with students at the university auditorium on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

The meeting began with introductions and an opening speech highlighting the university's achievements, including its establishment in June 2023 and approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The council emphasized the university's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment and ensuring students' overall well-being.

During the interactive session, students expressed their concerns and needs, including infrastructure development, transportation services, additional classrooms and facilities, hostel accommodations, lecturers for pending courses, and improved ICT facilities and internet access. The governing council listened attentively, assuring students that they would work to address these challenges.

The council announced plans to establish a working media studio, providing facilities for theatre art, mass communication, and talented students to utilize their skills. Additionally, the university promised to initiate a work and study scheme program to subsidize students' financial living and fees, and create an entrepreneur avenue for students.
The meeting concluded with advice on dress code and appreciation from both parties. Students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the council, and the council members reiterated their commitment to addressing students' concerns and improving the university's infrastructure and services.
