LASUED Empowers Academic Staff with Transformational Entrepreneurship Workshop

The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has successfully concluded a three-day intensive "Train-the-Trainer" workshop aimed at revolutionizing the delivery of its Entrepreneurship and Community Learning (ECL) curriculum.

The workshop, titled “Building Transformational Educators for Enterprise and Leadership Training,” was held from Monday, December 15, to Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the College of Management Sciences Education (COMSED). Organized by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development (DESD), the program focused on equipping academic staff with the tools to implement the LASUED ECL 203–404 curriculum effectively.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Daodu M.A., reiterated that entrepreneurship is a foundational pillar of the university. "We do not want graduates who merely write letters of employment, but those who can stand on their own," Prof. Daodu stated, emphasizing that lecturers must first master entrepreneurial knowledge to inspire self-reliance in their students.

The Director of DESD, Prof. Bolanle O. Olaleye, highlighted the university's mandate that every student must graduate with at least one practical skill. She described the workshop as a vital collaborative platform for peer learning, ensuring that LASUED graduates transition from job seekers to employers of labor.

Throughout the three-day event, facilitators provided expert sessions on identifying social problems and seizing market opportunities, reinforcing the university's commitment to producing socially responsible and economically independent leaders.
