Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has successfully conducted its first-ever Teaching Practice Orientation Programme for 300-level students on Friday, September 27, 2024. The event, held at the Oluremi Tinubu Hall on the Oto/Ijanikin main campus, marked a key milestone in the university’s commitment to producing world-class educators.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor B.B. Lafiaji-Okuneye, represented by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Dr. M.A. Daodu, urged students to be exemplary ambassadors of LASUED as they embark on their teaching practice assignments. He emphasized the importance of the exercise, noting that teaching practice is a core component of their degree program and must be approached with seriousness.

Dr. F.A. Akinkuotu, Acting Director of the Directorate of Teaching Practice, advised students to be punctual, adhere to professional ethics, and maintain high standards. She encouraged them to embrace the teaching profession with passion and avoid misconduct, including harassment or any behavior that could jeopardize their success.

Additionally, Dr. B.O. Olaleye, Acting Director of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, highlighted the practical value of the teaching practice, stating that it offers students real-world experience that complements their classroom learning. Facilitators such as Dr. K.O. Adedotun and Dr. C.B. Elegbede provided students with essential guidelines and materials for the exercise.

The orientation was attended by other notable dignitaries, including Dr. R.A. Dawodu, Dean of Students' Affairs, alongside Heads of Departments (HODs), who collectively wished the students a fruitful and successful teaching practice journey.
