N250M ASR Grant: FULokoja Receives Project Team as Contractor Assumes Site

The Management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) played host to a team of experts and contractors from Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) who were in the University to interact with the Management and inspect the proposed site for the construction of a Central Laboratory through the N250M grant awarded to FUL with a view to kick-starting the project in earnest.

Members of the team, who were received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi during the Principal Officers Committee's (POC) weekly meeting held recently, were later conducted around the Permanent Site, Felele for an on-the-spot assessment of the designated location and handing over of the project site.

The Vice-Chancellor used the occasion to express deep appreciation once again to the management of ASR Africa/BUA Group under the chairmanship of Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu for his philanthropic and laudable interventions in some selected Nigerian Universities of which FUL is a beneficiary.

During the meeting in Abuja, other required documents such as award letter, drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) prepared by the University's Physical Planning and Development Department (PP&DD), were also exchanged for detailed analysis of the proposed project, which was to be completed within six (6) months once awarded, by a joint technical and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Committee.

Recently, after undergoing due diligence, ASR Africa directly awarded the project to a contractor who has now reported at the beneficiary Institution - Federal University Lokoja - to commence the all-awaited project that would benefit the Institution greatly. See more pictures here
