In a significant move towards enhancing the education sector in Anambra State, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo received the comprehensive report from the Anambra State Education Advisory Council, headed by former Aviation Minister Chief Osita Chidoka. The report, titled "Solution Agenda: Shaping The Future of Anambra State Through Innovative Educational Strategies," outlines key recommendations for strategic reforms across funding, technology, and school ranking/inspection systems.
A major highlight of the report is Anambra State's commitment to joining the Program for International Students Assessment (PISA), an initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). PISA aims to measure the ability of 15-year-old students to apply their reading, mathematics, and science knowledge and skills to real-life challenges, providing valuable data for improving education policies and outcomes.

Governor Soludo commended the Education Advisory Council for its thorough work and immediately directed the implementation of the recommendations. Emphasizing his administration's dedication to providing education that meets global standards, Soludo stated, "Anambra state should be benchmarked with global peers, and we strive to make our students globally competitive."

Chief Osita Chidoka, the former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission and initiator of the FRSC Academy at Udi, Enugu State, presented the report to Governor Soludo. Chidoka highlighted the Council's focus on reengineering the education system in Anambra in alignment with the vision of the Soludo-led administration.
The Council members, consisting of prominent figures in Anambra, include Chief Osita Chidoka, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Patrick Okigbo III, Prof. S.O.E Ogbogu, Dr. Angela M.A Obodozie, Rev. Sr. (Prof) Mary Felicia Opara, Engr. Paul Enidom, Prof. Walter Chukwuma Nwafia, Dr. Ngozi Agbasimalo, Prof. O.S.A Obikeze, Prof. Virgy Onyene, Dr. Ifenyinwa Osegbue, Dr. Njideka Rita Chikezie, Prof. Greg Chukwudi Nwakobu, Prof A.U Nonyelu, Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, Chinwe Okoli, and Dr. Vera Nwadinobi. Governor Soludo and Deputy Governor Dr. Onyeka Ibezim were also part of the Council.
The recommended reforms not only aim to elevate the education standards in Anambra State but also position the state as the premier destination for education in Nigeria and the West African Sub-Region. The proactive approach taken by Governor Soludo's administration reflects a commitment to fostering globally competitive students and aligning the state with international educational benchmarks.
