UNILORIN and BATN Foundation Collaborate to Empower Youth in Agriculture

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has forged a partnership with the British American Tobacco Nigerian Foundation (BATNF) to promote agricultural entrepreneurship among young graduates through the Graduate Agripreneur Project (GAP).

Aligned with the federal government's agenda to make agriculture appealing to youths, the GAP initiative aims to cultivate agribusiness enterprises among postgraduates and undergraduates in agricultural faculties across tertiary institutions.

Oludare Odusanya, the General Manager of BATNF, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming UNILORIN into the youth empowerment ecosystem, emphasizing that investing in the youth as successful agripreneurs contributes to the nation's agricultural sector's growth and overall economic sustainability.

The program provides grants to at least four graduates annually, with the goal of preparing future generations to tackle the challenges of feeding a growing population, nurturing unique talents, promoting sustainable agriculture, and fostering the establishment of agricultural enterprises among young graduates.
