Professor Adenike Oladiji, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has lauded the remarkable determination of Ruth Omole, a PhD student in the Department of Food Science and Technology, for her commitment to commuting by bicycle. The commendation came during a special meeting with Omole, who has garnered attention for her unique and eco-friendly mode of transportation.

Professor Oladiji praised Omole’s efforts as a shining example of the core values upheld at FUTA, highlighting how her story embodies the resilience and tenacity fostered among the student body. “Ruth’s initiative not only sets a remarkable example but also reinforces the strength and determination we aim to instill in our students,” Professor Oladiji stated. She emphasized that about 90 percent of FUTA students reflect these qualities due to the institution's rigorous training.

Professor Oladiji concluded by urging students to remain resilient, seek practical solutions, and passionately pursue their interests. She encapsulated Omole’s lessons into three key messages: develop a keen interest in something, pursue it diligently, and explore alternative options when needed.
