In a significant stride toward fostering entrepreneurship, 11 entrepreneurial lecturers have successfully completed an intensive training program organized by the Directorate of Entrepreneurial Studies at Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu.

11 entrepreneurial lecturers have successfully completed an intensive training program organized by the Directorate of Entrepreneurial Studies at Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. This initiative aims to empower lecturers with the skills necessary to train students at Godfrey Okoye University and the Institute of Ecumenical Education, Thinkers Corner, to become job creators rather than job seekers.

During the certificate presentation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, expressed pride in the university’s pioneering role in integrating entrepreneurship into its curriculum and overall approach. He highlighted the STEP Project, the university's signature entrepreneurship program launched in collaboration with Leuphana University in Germany, as a trailblazing initiative in Nigeria.

"We cannot afford to do this poorly, as it impacts Africa as a whole. We must succeed," Professor Anieke stated, reaffirming the university’s commitment to building a future of skilled and innovative entrepreneurs. He also acknowledged the presence of representatives from other African universities in the training program, emphasizing the far-reaching positive impact this initiative will have on students.

Mr. Christopher Uwakwe, Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurial Studies, commended the collaboration between Leuphana University and Godfrey Okoye University, which made the training a resounding success. The program featured participation from lecturers of Leuphana University, the University of Venda (South Africa), Mount Kenya University (Kenya), the National Universities Commission (Abuja), Godfrey Okoye University, and the Institute of Ecumenical Education, Thinkers Corner, Enugu.
